TRICIA'S TWEET OF THE DAY:
You have a choice - You can either worry or worship. You can either pray or panic. The more you pray, the less you'll panic.
RANDOM OBSERVATION:
I read something once that I've used several times as an example in small group studies. It's an object lesson on how we process information. You can think of it in various terms. How we process Scripture when we read it. How we process what people say to us. How we process instructions....all types of things. The object lesson involves four cups.
The first cup is upside down. When you try to pour water in the cup, it goes nowhere. This represents being unwilling to learn. Not listening. Paying no attention. It would be similar to reading something & daydreaming through it & not even realizing what you read. With this cup, no matter how much is poured, nothing gets in.
The second cup is right side up, but has a hole in the bottom. When you pour water in the cup, it's in there briefly & soon pours through. In this case, we hear what is being taught or take in what is being read, but we forget it quickly. An example would be taking a lesson & forgetting the instructions by the time you get home. It's the classic "in one ear and out the other"
The third cup is right side up & doesn't have a hole in it, but the inside is covered in dirt. When the clear water is poured in, the dirt makes it cloudy. This symbolizes how we distort what he hear. Interpreting & editing it to fit our preconceived ideas & opinions. Anything that doesn't match our opinion is resisted, ignored or disregarded. Distorting Scripture is a good example for this. When we take a verse out of context or change the intended meaning.
The fourth cup represents the ideal way to process information. It is upright with no holes. When you pour water into it, it is retained. This cup represents receiving what is taught. It is open to learning something new. To whatever extent you can, be like the fourth cup.
Which cup are you?
TRIVIA ANSWER:
Persia
Until next time......

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to
tell someone!
